Oakland, by way of San Francisco, taken from the direction of Marin.
This is an amazing shot.  The foreground tower is the Golden Gate Bridge.  The center shows the western (suspension) span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.  The bright lights on the right are from the Oakland Coliseum.  As the full moon rises, the lower-right edge is slightly occluded by Mount Diablo.
Where was the photographer?  Marin Headlands?  Helicopter?
Awesome!

Bay Bridge Lightning Strike! by phil_mcgrew http://flic.kr/p/by6bW1

- - - The photographer’s flickr caption adds: “This shot has been on my list since moving to San Francisco. Unfortunately, I’ve only seen lightning 3 times in the 2 years I’ve lived here. Tonight, I got lightning in 3 separate 20 second exposures. This is a single exposure.”
This thunderstorm the night of Thursday 12 April 2012 was spectacular and rather unusual for the San Francisco Bay area.  - Amplexi.- - -
